my mom the SUPERMOM

Supermoms are the ones running things at the board meetings. She is the soccer room running to after-school programs. And, especially on weekends, she’s the designated chauffeur, running errands all over town, taking care of all the things needed to keep the house in order like cooking cleaning, supervising the children while doing homework.

But how do they handle it?

Supermoms fine-tune their organizational skills to balance their career and family with as little stress as possible. They also build a support system to make things easier.

A supermom is always busy, so they do not rely solely on memory to keep track of all their tasks, and the places they have to be at the given time. Most of the time, supermoms use their phone, computer on a small calandared notebook.

To avoid scheduling conflicts, supermoms set aside some time to plan their weekly schedule. With their schedule to depend on, they can sort out commitments that may conflict with their job.

What are the activities that supermoms are involved in?

Accompanying clients, Volunteering work for schools, Housekeeping, and Keeping children company, eeting up with children’s teachers, planning the family gatherings.

What are the common struggles as a supermom?

Time management, Health conditions: Tired from stress and the bad comments from her children. Unable to got enough sleep. Overworking herself.

Do you have any recent experiences?

1)There was a time when my sons was ill but I had not much time to look after her.

2)There was one time that I want to go to my daughter’s school’s family day but I cannot make up the time to go. 

What concerns do you have as a supermom?

 I wish to have more time to spend with my children and for myself and not always occupied at work.

Why did you choose to be a supermom?

I want to let my children to go in a better school and to raise the family’s earnings.

What motivates you from being a supermom – balancing both work and family? What keeps you going?

Children and family. Children and family make me have more energy to works.   

What concerns do you have as a supermom?

I want to accompany my children but I still have works to do so I feel sorry to them.

Jacqueline: What motivates you and keeps ypu being a supermom?

mrs lee: When i see my family working on very well, this gives a motivation to work on further and do my part in the family.

Jacqueline: What are your struggles and concerns?

mrs lee: There are many struggles. Maintaining a supermom is not easy, as you have to cope with many things such as worrying if your child is doing well in school, whether they are playing truancy. I cannot be always focusing on them as i have my own work to do. Juggling both things at the same time is not very easy.

Jacqueline: Can you give one recent example?

mrs lee: The day when i struggle with both jobs was really a hectic one. That day i had an important meeting with my client and suddenly my phone rang. The call was from my daughter’s teacher. I had a fright of my life.  A teacher never call unless it ws really an emergency. The teacher said that my daughter had a terrible stomach pain and kept throwing up now and then. So, i decided to call off the meeting and fetch my daughter from school. I find that no matter how busy you are, family willl always come first.

Jacqueline: Do you like being a supermom?

mrs lee: Even tough it  is tiring most of the time, but i still love th ekind of a hectic lifestyle. Im a person who likes being occupied with some work.

Jacqueline: Many say such supermoms seldom spend time with their children. Do you think its true?

mrs lee: No, i don’t think its true. Because firstly I don’t care what people think of it. Secondly, as long as you believe in what you think is right for your children, and that i think is efficiently ready, You don’t have to be harry or be worried about them.

Jacqueline: “Supermoms seldom rest.” Do you believe in this sentence?

mrs lee: I don’t quite believe in the sentence. Frankly speaking supermoms like me are not totally free but still have a chance to do what i like to do.

Jacqueline: Supermoms are not able to commumicate with non-working mothers(housewives). Do you think its true?

mrs lee: Actually, its pretty much true. Because non-working mothers are not able to experience situations like us. SO, maybe its difficult to communicate with them.

Jacqueline: Anything you want to tell other supermoms?

mrs lee: Don’t give up. Persist to the end!!

Auntie sze: When i see my family working on very well, i tend to work even harder.

Auntie sze: When i see my children doing poorly in school,not concentrating at home. I cannot 24 hour company them as i have my work to do too.

Yumei: Do you like being a supermom?

Auntie sze: no!!! it’s stressful. Coming home late and have no time to spent on my children.

Yumei: Many says such supermom seldom spent time with their children. Do you think is true?

Auntie sze: Frankly speaking, it’s totally true. I mean it’s like you have to sacrifice your time spenting with your kids to do assignments that your boss ask you to do.

Yumei: Supermom seldom rest. Do you think believe in this sentence?

Auntie sze: it’s prefectly correct. You have to juggle many things at the same time, that’s not easy.

Yumei: Supermom are not able to communicate well with non-working moms(housewives)do you think is true?

auntie sze: No. i can communicate really well with my neighbour who is a housewives. We chat,laugh and do many things together.

Yumei: What do you want to say to all the supermom in the world?

Auntie sze: Hope you all will take things easy and not stress out yourself!all the best!!

Love

Supermom has endless amounts of it. For everyone, including families, friends and loved ones. I will continue to support her physically and emotionally, because I love my mother.

Generosity

Emotionally and financially, if she has it she will give it to you. Even at significant cost to herself. This also applies to her time. No matter how busy she is, she will make time for you. This generosity is both a wonderful and a terrible thing.

Patience

She is in a caring profession, but both in a professional and private capacity, she always has more patience than anyone could reasonably ask of her.

Professionalism

Supermums’ job requires her to deal with people who behave badly, and in a professional way. No matter how much she wants to do otherwise, she deals with them reasonably, calmly, with patience and above all with professionalism.

Strength

No matter what is thrown at her, she keeps going. She does it with an abundance of love, generosity, patience, professionalism and strength.
